Bio
As I child a did Yoga from a young age, around 12-13, and I instantly fell in love with it. I went to a Yoga class at my local well-being centre every week, where I was the only young one!! and it resonated with me so much. The feeling of a Sun Salutation was like no other and I distinctly remember buying my first ever Yoga mat, it was magical! Since then, Spirituality has also been a huge part of my life. I have always collected crystals, used oracle cards, meditated and wanted to know more about the deeper meaning of life. This path then lead to me to find Yoga again 3 years ago at a studio near to my work office. As soon as I stepped onto the Mat, the same feeling came back to me and everything in my bones was telling me Yoga would be a part of me for the rest of my life.
My biggest goal for my career is to teach Yoga full time. This is something I would like to be able to do in the near future so I am putting things into place now to make this work for me. I would like to start online as I am doing currently, earning as much as possible, and then when I have my certification, to reach out to Studios in my area to offer my services. As soon as I am accredited I would like to go self employed and also offer one to one sessions to my current students either online or in person. As well as my Yoga I am also qualified in Reiki 2 so I would like to use this as well. As you can see from my Instagram account, @positivitea.yogi, I have been building up my online presence and client base for at least a year now which I hope will help me to get my goals faster. I understand this is a big part of advertising in this current time. I have also reached out to a well-being fair on my local field where I will be offering a 30 minute taster session of my classes and a chance for people to chat with me about what I can offer. Using the business side of this course, I have looked into business cards/leaflets etc for this and will be using them at the fair so that people remember me. As mentioned above, my future aim is to become a self employed Yoga teacher so I would also like to build up my Hours, eventually becoming a highly qualified Yoga Instructor. So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching Yoga to my students online and I will continue to do this from now on. During recent Lockdowns/COVID-19 restrictions, I have been doing some online classes for a local personal trainer who offers a monthly membership for Fitness classes. I was asked to be her yoga instructor once a week and, along with learning this course, it worked very well for me as I was able to get a lot of practice in since signing up and starting my YTT journey. Since starting my teaching I have taught an array of different students, all different ages and got some amazing feedback which I am so grateful for. Because of this opportunity to teach online, I now feel confident enough in myself to go and teach in a studio and for that I couldn’t be more thankful to the universe for giving me that opportunity during such a tough time.
